I've been playing flute for about 50 years now! I've played in bands, orchestras, coffee shops, nursing homes, assisted living homes, and many other places, including virtually over Zoom!

Seniors and children are deeply impacted by my concerts! I've seen it cheer people up and watched those with severe disabilities come alive, become more alert, etc.

Kind Words

Thank you so much for coming!

I have received numerous accolades for your performance today! They really enjoyed the program.

Valerie is an outstanding flutist, and her patience and enthusiasm are exceptional.

She not only reads music, but she improvises beautifully with excellent taste. I would recommend Valerie because of her dedication and love of her work.

We sure enjoyed your music!

We would love you to come back in very soon!

Meet Valerie

I'm Val, a classically trained musician with 50 years playing experience. My goal is to being back memories for everyone (especially seniors) by playing all kinds of music from multiple decades.

I grew up in Iowa in a family of musicians. I grew up with big band , classical and patriotic music, which is why I know and can play lots of old songs from the 20's going forward.

I am very passionate about the health benefits of music. There are SO many ways it works: increased cognition, improved memory, improved mood (just to name a few).

I see the health benefits working in everyone I play for, including myself. After an exhausting day, I often play my flute for a while and feels like I've slept for hours.
